Nice cream

The name gives it away. The much healthier version of ice cream, nice cream is made with fruit. Yes, just fruit. And you can eat it every day. So long as you are also enjoying a wide variety of nutritious foods as recommended by the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating.

This recipe can be enjoyed as is, or frozen into traditional ice block moulds. I have seen food bloggers artfully style nice cream in bowls with added fruit, nuts and seeds but personally, I like to enjoy the simplicity of it.

  • 1-2 frozen bananas
  • 1-2 cups frozen berries or fruit pulp like mango or passionfruit

In a blender place frozen bananas and fruit. Blend until thick, silky and nice.

Ta-da! You have nice cream.

If using fresh fruit the mix will be quite soft so you may like to freeze it for half an hour or so to firm up before serving.
